Abbeyfield in Burnley has a house in Harriet Street, and another in St Stephen Street. Both houses accommodate 11 to 12 residents, with self-contained en-suite, independent apartments. These comfortable, private spaces are equipped with bed sitting rooms plus facilities for making breakfast and snacks. Both houses have accommodation on the ground floor plus communal laundry facilities, and free Wi-fi is available in communal areas.
St Stephen Street Home also has a conservatory and garden area, and our Harriet Street accommodation has two patio seating areas. Home cooked meals are served in our communal dining rooms at lunchtime and teatime.
Smoking is not permitted within either of our houses. Each property has a designated smoking area outside.
Abbeyfield offers its residents an independent, carefree lifestyle – we are not a care home. Our residents have the freedom to come and go as they please, with the option to stamp their own style on their rooms with their taste in decoration and furnishings.
Our residents enjoy their independence, safe in the knowledge that there is a manager on site during the day to offer help, support and companionship. They don’t have the worry of maintaining a property, the cost of food, payment of Council tax or utility bills as these charges are included in their monthly rent.
The house manager checks on our residents every day and can assist in an emergency so you can feel safe, secure and comfortable. They also build lasting relationships with the families and GPs of our residents, as well as being a point of contact for any external agencies.
